Steven M. Gottlieb, MD, President and Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Gottlieb completed his anesthesiology residency and pain management subspecialty training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He received an MD from Hahnemann University School of Medicine (Alpha Omega Alpha), where he performed his internship in internal medicine, and a BA from Temple University (Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, President’s Scholar), both in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Gottlieb is a co-founder of Anesthetix and is a driving force behind the company’s adherence to clinical and business best practices, as well as its unique obsession with customer service in addition to quality. He plays a pivotal role in guiding the organization in maintaining its core values and mission while implementing its strategy to achieve its vision.
Prior to Anesthetix, Dr. Gottlieb formed and presided over several successful business entities, including an anesthesia and pain management practice, a multispecialty Independent Physicians’ Association (IPA), and a medical billing company.
Throughout the course of his career he has served on numerous medical boards and in various medical staff leadership positions, including County Board of Health, Hospital Board of Trustees, Hospice Board of Directors, Independent Physician Association Board of Managers, President of the Medical Staff, Chairman of the Department of Anesthesia, Director of Pain Management, and member/chair of a multitude of medical staff committees.
Dr Gottlieb’s professional organization membership includes ASA, AMA, MGMA, AAA, ISIS, and AAPM, as well as the Johns Hopkins Medical and Surgical Society. His hobbies include entrepreneurship, magic and martial arts. He is an active supporter of a number of charities, including the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts educational programs for children, the KIND Foundation for disabled children, and the Humane Society of the Palm Beaches.
